When it comes to date night in San Diego, finding the perfect spot that blends great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and top-notch service can be a challenge. But we found just the place—The Remy. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted by the owner, Ken, whose hospitality set the tone for a fantastic evening. Our server, Nate, was equally wonderful, making sure we had an amazing experience from start to finish.

The ambiance at The Remy felt straight out of Yellowstone—rustic yet refined, with country tunes playing all night to create the ultimate cozy yet lively setting. Whether you’re planning a romantic dinner or just looking for a laid-back spot with great food and drinks, this San Diego steakhouse is a must-visit.

We started with the Caesar salad, which was crisp, fresh, and had a delightful hint of lemon—just the way I like it. For our entrées, I went with the filet, which was tender and cooked perfectly. However, my husband’s New York steak was the real winner of the night—juicy, flavorful, and downright delicious.

One of the biggest highlights? We were surprised with a butter cake on the house, and let me tell you, it was absolutely decadent. Warm, rich, and perfectly sweet, it was the ideal way to cap off our meal.

To round out the night, we each enjoyed a cocktail. I opted for a Carajillo (a dreamy mix of espresso and Licor 43), while my husband had a classic Old Fashioned—both expertly crafted and the perfect way to end the evening.

Pro Tip: Bring Your Own Wine
One thing we love about The Remy is their BYOB policy. We have a large high-end wine collection, so we never mind paying a corkage fee to enjoy one of our favorite bottles. If you’re a wine lover looking to elevate your date night experience, this is a great way to do so while saving a little money.

Whether you’re planning your next date night in San Diego or just searching for a steakhouse that delivers on food, ambiance, and service, The Remy checks all the boxes. And if you’re looking for a fun yet relaxed vibe, their happy hour is also worth stopping in for. We’ll definitely be back, and if you haven’t been yet, we highly recommend adding The Remy to your list!
